Katahdin Tote Bag Class--IN PERSON
Join us Friday and Saturday (Nov. 18-19) to create a super cute and fun Katahdin Tote bag! Day 1 (Friday) will cover construction of the body of the bag, with some homework to do that evening. Day 2 (Saturday) will see your bag all put together and finished, complete with inside pockets and handles!
*You can complete Day 1 virtually or in-person, videos will be uploaded to a private Facebook group.
The cost of the class is $60 plus the cost of your supplies which are listed below and available for purchase here at Two Chicks Quilting.
Required Materials for this project:
Aunties Two Big Katahdin Tote Pattern W/Metal Stays
Jelly Roll of choice with 40 strips OR 40 strips of coordinating fabric 2 1/2" wide x WOF
Matching thread, this project will take a lot of thread so we suggest a large spool of Aurifil 50wt thread
1.75 yard of coordinating fabric for handles, lining, and inner pockets
Batting--1 roll of Bosal's Katahdin batting precut to 2 1/4" OR 2 1/2" wide by 50 yards long
5/8 yard--Craftex PLUS by Bosal (20" wide) double-sided fusible stiff interfacing for inside bottom of bag
Optional: In-R-Form PLUS By Bosal double-sided fusible foam batting--2 strips 2 1/2" wide x 58" long (use for sturdier handles and tabs)
30" double-slide zipper (these are heavy duty zippers, By Annies zippers recommended)
Denim needle size 14
Other Supplies Needed:
Sewing machine with a good zigzag and a free arm
Scissors (both large & small)
Rotary cutter & cutting mat
Ruler
Pins (large flat head pins recommended)
Seam ripper
Marking Pen (we like a Frixtion Pen)
Foam Poster Board
Clips
We also suggest investing in a Jerry's Jelly Roll Jig if you don't have one already as it helps you to complete your homework much more efficiently.
Two Chicks Quilting Class/Event Cancellation Policy (effective Oct. 3, 2022)
Cancellations made at least 48 hours prior to a class or event will be 100% credited back as store credit. If it is less than 48 hours until the class, you will receive 50% of the class fee applied as a store credit. Cancellations MUST be done over the phone or in person. *Two Chicks Quilting reserves the right to change this policy at any time.*
