Jo's Beginner Paper Piecing Class is great anyone who wants to learn paper piecing or perfect their skills with this technique. You will learn from one of the best, Jo who is a retired Home Economics teacher and loves all things quilting. This is a class that is broken up in to three sessions, Friday, July 29th, Aug 12th, and Aug 26th from 10AM-4PM each day. Between classes you will have a little homework to bring with you to the following class. Please bring your own lunch.
During this class you will be making a small sampler quilt with a finished size 40 1/2" x 40 1/2" great for a wall hanging or table topper.
We ask that class supplies be purchased at Two Chicks Quilting, we will assist you in getting the right fabric and supplies you need for class...you will receive a 10% discount on all fabric & supplies purchased for the class. You can bring your own machine, please make sure it is in working order and you know the basic operation and threading of it. Machines are also available for rent, ask us for details.
Supplies Required, available at Two Chicks Quilting:
*Paper Piecing with Alex Anderson Book
*Fabric list will be emailed to you after sign up and Two Chicks Quilting will assist you in picking out what you like
*1/4" foot for your machine
*Rotary Cutter with new, sharp blade
*Ripper
*50 wt thread for piecing (we prefer Aurifil brand)
*Pins
*Small scissors for snipping threads
*Add a Quarter Ruler
Optional Supplies:
*Mini iron and ironing mat
*mini cutting mat
*small 12" ruler for trimming
Classroom Supplies Provided:
Large cutting mats, long rulers, ironing stations, irons
