Day 1 Bags Community Service Project for High School Graduates

Two Chicks Quilting is proud to partner with the non-profit "Day 1 Bags", who assures every Texas teen in Foster Care receives a twin size quilt, a pillow case and other essentials when they graduate from High School.

As such, we will be holding a couple of workdays and seeking donations, so that we can provide at least 6 quilts for teens in our area for their 2023 graduation.

Please join us on October 10th and/or 11th from 10-4 pm so that we can plan, cut, and sew these quilts using a simple pattern in gender neutral colors that are at least 63” X 87”. If possible, please bring fat quarters in solids, tone on tone, blenders or other neutral colors. If you are unable to bring fat quarters, please join us to cut and sew!

If you are unable to donate fabric or come sew with us, but would like to make a monetary donation to help pay for backing fabric, batting and/or quilting, that would be amazing as well.

So that we have enough space and can provide lunch on the 10th and 11th, please let us know if you plan to attend and/or can participate in any other way.

Below is a link to the Day 1 Bags program for Foster care Seniors. Texas is divided up in to several regions and we are in the San Antonio Region and have Pledged to make 6 quilts and pillow cases. If there is money left over from donations after paying for supplies and quilting for these projects it will be donated for other items the organization pulls together for this event.
